I'm Jeff Slama. I was born and raised in the desert, and I'm based in La Quinta. When you call, I answer, and I'm the one who comes to your door.

How it works when you call me
You get me.
There's no dispatcher and no call center. I answer the phone, and I'm the one who does the work. If I'm in the middle of a job, I leave my phone in the van out of courtesy to that customer. Leave a message or send a text and I'll call you back when I'm done.
You get a real time, not a window.
I'm not the cable company. I won't tell you 8 to noon. If I say I'll be there at one, I'm there at one or I'm early.
If I can't fix it, you don't pay.
I've always been that way. And if a part has to be ordered, there's no second service call charge.
If it's simple, I'll tell you how to fix it yourself.
Some lock problems are simple, like a bathroom privacy lock. When it's that easy, sometimes I just tell you on the phone how to do it.

I also do gate locks, cabinet and file cabinet locks, key duplication and broken key extraction.
What I don't do: car keys, key fobs, ignitions, safes, or wired entry systems like electric strikes and buzzers. For a locked car I can unlock the door, and that's all I do on cars. If it's something I can't do, I'll refer you to someone who can.

Born and raised here
I've lived in the desert my whole life, and ASAP Lock Specialist is a family owned and operated business. I started it in January 1998, and the business has held its California locksmith license since that same year. I'm not the big corporate locksmith. I want it to feel like your next door neighbor came over to help you out.

- Will I get you, or someone else?
- Me. The person who answers the phone is the person at your door.
- Are you really open 24 hours?
- Yes. I'm 24 hours, 7 days a week.
- Do you make car keys?
- No. I don't make or program car keys or key fobs, and I don't work on ignitions. If you're locked out of your car, I can unlock the door. If it's something I can't do, I'll refer you to someone who can.
- Do you open safes?
- No. I don't do safes. If it's something I can't do, I'll refer you to someone who can.
- What if you can't fix it?
- Then you don't pay. And if I have to order a part, there's no second service call charge.
- Is the estimate free?
- Yes. Estimates are free.
- Can I book a time online?
- You can request a time on the contact page, and I'll call or text to confirm it. I don't do automatic booking, because I never know exactly how long the job before yours will run. A rekey can take 30 minutes or three hours.
- Do you have a shop I can come to?
- No. I'm mobile only. I bring the van to you.
- How can I pay?
- Credit card (tap to pay, or over the phone), Zelle, Venmo, cash or check.
- Do you have any discounts?
- New customers save 10 percent. Ask me about the new homeowner, senior and veteran discounts when you call.
- Are you licensed?
